With the new, full-size Renault 5 coming back as a fully electric car in 2024, Tamiya welcomes an updated reissue of Item 24027 1/24 Renault 5 Turbo Rally (originally sold in 1982 and re-issued in 2011) with updated decals and instruction manual in the 1/24 Sports Car Series.
The Renault 5 Turbo was a special version of the inimitable 5, developed for rally races. With a 1.4-liter inline-4 turbo engine in place of the rear seats the Turbo had a midship setup and used lightweight aluminum and plastic panels.
The works car won the first global rally of 1981 and was a familiar sight near the top of timesheets thereafter.
About the Model
