The RENAULT 4 CV was presented in the first post-war Paris Motor Show in
October 1946. Evolved during the bombings and completed while France
was still under rations, this little “car for everyone” created by the
engineer Ferdinand Picard would be the vehicle of newly found freedom
and a better life. For both families and city use, robust, economical
and cheap, the 4CV would be the first French car to produce more than a
million of its make: 1,105,547 in a 14-year career.
