The UH-1D is the most built helicopter in the western world with over 7000 built machines. It has an excellent reputation, is considered to be one of the safest aircraft and can also carry bulky loads through two large sliding side doors. The Air Force uses its UH-1D primarily for SAR missions in order to meet international security obligations.
