"The "Panzerkampfwagen
IV" formed the backbone of the German armoured forces in the Second
World War. Between 1933 and 1945 larger quantities of this tank were
produced than from any other German Main Battle Tank of that time. The H
model which for the first time was fitted with side skirts to increase
armour protection was built from 1943 until 1944.
